Our latest update of the “Ask Ingrid” app <\/a>is now also available for Android devices. With this scanner update, Ingrid gains the ability to evaluate packaged food! Ingrid can assess foods for lactose intolerance<\/a>. Fructose intolerance<\/a>, histamine intolerance<\/a>, sorbitol intolerance, gluten avoidance and irritable bowel syndrome. Let’s take a look at the development history and highlight the benefits of this update.<\/p>\n\n

What you can expect<\/h2>\n\n

We have already reported on the app and its financing structure several times<\/a>. Up until the scanner update, over 200,000 euros had been invested in the project, mainly out of the company’s own pocket. The app has only raised 2,000 euros to date. That’s why we started monetizing the app over a year ago. At the time, we spoke to our users and asked you to vote on what the subscription model should look like. Here are the results:<\/p>\n\n

Ingrid remains completely ad-free. You can scan with Ingrid twice a day for free and do a food query twice a day. If you want to query data more frequently, you have to take out a subscription. The subscription costs either \u20ac3.99 per month or \u20ac29.99 per year (-37%). That’s not even 8 cents solidarity contribution per day!<\/p>\n\n

A few months ago we were able to release the update for the iPhone, and now it’s Android’s turn. All you have to do is open the Playstore, search for “Ask Ingrid” and download the update. Or you can click here and then on the update<\/a>. From then on you can carry out 2 queries and 2 scans a day free of charge. With a small solidarity contribution, you can use the app without restrictions. Of course, you do not have to update, but the app will not be able to scan and you will not receive any further updates.<\/p>\n\n

Unhappy with the subscription model?<\/h2>\n\n

When we released the update for the iPhone app, we received some 1-star reviews. This is very unfortunate, as we have always worked transparently with you. Free use always means that someone else has to pay for it. The development of such apps is complex and expensive. The solidarity contribution of 8 cents per day is therefore entirely justified. If you are not satisfied, please let us know your concerns by emailing ingrid@frag-ingrid.com<\/a> instead of leaving a 1-star rating on Google Play. And if you like the app and are happy that we’re doing this, then we’d be delighted to receive a 5-star rating on Google Play. The better the app is rated, the more people download the app and can then also benefit from the data. Don’t worry, we won’t get rich, but we can continue to finance the project.<\/p>\n\n
